Personal expression or school-sponsored speech? Simple satire or trademark infringement? These are the legal issues at stake in the Twenty-Fourth Annual Mentor Moot Court problem. Yesterday, Fordham University School of Law's Moot Court Board and the Justice Resource Center played hosts to the remarkable partnership that is the Moot Court Competition. In the two months leading up to the preliminary rounds, teams of lawyers, teachers, and highly motivated students will prepare and practice their arguments.
Welcoming the law firm/school pairs were Debra Lesser, Director of the Justice Resource Center; Valeria Castanaro, Fordham's Mentor Editor; and Aldo Badini, Chairman of the Justice Resource Center's Board of Directors.
Below: Debra Lesser addresses the crowd of lawyers and teachers. "I thank all the wonderful teachers and lawyers who ensure that law-related education remains within our schools. Without you, we would not have a program."
