April 21, 2014: The IP Video Contest encourages teens and the public to consider the value of the U.S. patent system. Teens ages 13 to 18 and even students ages 19 and above are asked to submit an original video about why they think the patent system is important. Deadline is July 1, 2014.

Categories:

  • 13-15 years-old: Two winners will each receive a $5,000 cash prize
  • 16-18 years-old: Two winners will each receive a $5,000 scholarship
  • Adults 19 and over: One winner will receive a $5,000 cash prize

The IPO Education Foundation encourages teachers to promote IP education by sharing this contest with their students. If a winning student mentions the name of their teacher as a referral source on the application, that teacher will receive a $1500 prize for their classroom.

CHCI Summer Program Open to NYC Students

April 18, 2014: From now through Wednesday, April 30, high school students from New York City can apply to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s (CHCI) 2014 R2L NextGen Program.

This exciting civic engagement and leadership program brings 40 students from across the country to Washington, D.C. during the week of July 27- August 1, 2014. Students will gain expansive knowledge about our democratic process, engage with Latino community leaders, and explore the nation’s capital.

R2L NextGen is FREE for participants and is made possible through the generous support of founding sponsor State Farm Insurance, Southwest Airlines (the Official Airline Sponsor of CHCI’s 2014 Leadership Development Programs), and regional supporters.
